I'm Daryl and I'm the Gypsy, not so much because I travel from place to place, although I have done my share, but I use the word as a metaphor, for a way of viewing the innate movement of life itself. Life is forever changing and moving; we let things go and we receive anew. It's the circle of life. Even something simple and automatic as breathing follows this view; we release a breath and take in anew. We let go of a habit and create a new one. All of life is a flow of energy and the movements of the GYROTONIC® Method mimic this aspect of life. All my movement teachings are based in the ancient martial art form of Qi Gong. Qi is our life force or energy which includes our breath. And Gong is the practice or skill. GYROTONIC® is the first movement method I began teaching in 2013 and it forever changed my life. Through the practice of GYROTONIC® my life became about connection, awareness, and presence. My life became a journey of joy.

With GYROTONIC® exercises, each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, efficiency, strength and flexibility.
Once practiced and more advanced the movements and flows can become more rhythmical and allow for a cardiovascular experience, an increased heart rate, creating circulation and flow, increased metabolism and even weight loss.

The GYROTONIC® methodology uses your body’s natural spherical and spiraling movement patterns to decompress and strengthen your entire spine. Not only is your spine the foundation for all movement; many believe it is the structural foundation for good health. The GYROTONIC® workout consists of progressively challenging exercise modules that promote joint mobility. Its multi-directional, circular movements make you less vulnerable to injuries, stress and micro-traumas by increasing your spinal column’s functional ability. Being able to complete multiple joint movements without compression gives the body extraordinary flexibility and capability. At the practice’s heart are seven spinal movement principles which also stimulate the nervous system, creating a sense of balance in the upright body: bending forward - extending backward - side-bending the right - side-bending to the left - rotating to the right - rotating to the left - articulated, circular motion.
